Employment & EducationEdit

Countywide Employment and Education provides oversight of the employment and educational services in the Department of Mental Health (DMH) clinics and the State Department of Rehabilitation/DMH Cooperative Agreement. Countywide Employment and Education also develops resources and provides training and technical assistance to those providing employment and education services throughout the mental health system including the Mental Health Services Act funded Full Service Partnership and Wellness Center Programs. Employment services include vocational assessments and assistance with job development, placement and retention. Countywide Employment and Education has developed educational partnerships with programs throughout the County that include the Los Angeles Unified School District, WorkSource Centers , community colleges, adult education and apprenticeship programs. The Countywide Housing, Employment and Education Resource Development (CHEERD) Division provides a range of housing services for homeless clients that includes housing subsidies through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program and Shelter Plus Care Program; Rental Assistance and Eviction Prevention; and temporary shelter through the Specialized Shelter Bed Program.
