New Directions for Veterans offers comprehensive services for homeless veterans, including substance abuse and mental health counseling, job training and workforce development services, tax and legal assistance, parenting, money management, family reunification, and permanent housing placement and job placement. counseling, mental heatlhs a comprehensive transitional housing program is a long-term rehabilition program for veterans. Since late 2011 the agency has also offered homelessness prevention via the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program of the V.A. and the Greater Los Angeles Home for Good program. Permanent supportive housing for homeless and disabled veterans is opening in August 2013 at the Sepulveda V.A. Ambulatory Care Center in North Hills, CA. Other permanent supportive housing for veterans is under construction in the City of El Monte and in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.
